Give it a Break.

Why do the Yankees, and George Steinbrenner particularly, have to be such fucking assholes all the time? Why can't they just let the World Baseball Classic go on as it is? First Georgie has to make a big fuss about the whole thing every chance he gets. And now the team has hung a sign at their spring training facility apologizing to the fans, for the players being involved with the WBC. That just seems so over the top and selfish. Baseball needs the WBC, the sport needs to grow. There are two teams from Europe, a team from Africa, and Australia, to go along with America (north and south) and Asia. To see baseball spread throughout the world would be great. To have some of the up and coming sporting nations get involved, as well as the old world Soccer holdouts get involved, would be absolutely amazing. Perhaps someday we could have a true World Series. But if George Steinbrenner has it his way every team will bow down to the Yankees, and let the Yankees collectively fuck the sport in the ass. The Yankees aren't bad for baseball, George Steinbrenner is bad for baseball. I can't wait till the day that man either steps down or dies, baseball will rejoice. The tyranny shall end. Teams like the KC Royals, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and Pittsburgh Pirates will finally have a chance, the sport might actually be fair. I almost hope a team other than the United States wins the WBC title, it would be wonderful for the sport.
